Senior Speech and Language Therapist – Stroke Service, Co. Louth

Senior Speech and Language Therapist required for permanent position in stroke rehab unit based in Dundalk, Co. Louth

Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team on-site, the Senior Speech and Language Therapist will also collaborative cross-site with acute services as well as early discharge services.

The role will be based in a bedded specialist stroke rehab unit with a cognitive assessment area and will involve working as part of a well-structured multi-disciplinary team consisting of a physiotherapist, occupational therapist, medical social worker and dietitian.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SLT seeking to further develop their career in stroke rehab. Excellent peer support and supervision will be provided.

The unit well located and serviced by excellent road network, 45 minutes from North Dublin and Monaghan town and 25 minutes from Newry with parking facilities.

Interested candidates should have:

·      A recognised qualification as a Speech and Language Therapist

·      Eligible for registration with CORU

·      Excellent English language written and verbal communication skills

·      A minimum of 3 years post qualification experience with a significant amount of experience in stroke rehab.

·      Dysphagia experience and qualification

·      Participate in cross site work as required

·      Experience in conducting Videofluoroscopy is desirable

·      Self motivated and the ability to work on own initiative
