Job Description
Job Title: Senior Cardiac Physiologist Reports to: Cardiac Services Manager Location: Cavan

Job Purpose
This role involves providing a diagnostic cardiology service at a private healthcare clinic in Cavan and offering support to a Dublin-based hospital when required. The successful candidate will be expected to uphold the highest professional standards, maintain confidentiality, and align with the organization's core values.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The Senior Cardiac Physiologist will be based in Cavan, with occasional support required in Dublin. The Cardiology Department performs a range of cardiac investigations, including:
Essential:
ECGs - Recording, interpretation, and identification of abnormal findings.
Transthoracic echocardiography - Independent scanning and reporting to BSE/EACVI/ARDMS standards.
Loop-recorder, pacemaker, ICD & Biventricular device interrogation & follow-up, including home monitoring & database experience.
24-hour Holter monitoring - Patient setup, technical downloading, and interpretation.
24-hour Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring - Patient setup and analysis.
Event Recording - Patient setup and analysis.
Desirable:
Technical support in a Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, including Angiograms & Percutaneous Coronary Intervention and emergency procedures.
Tilt-Table testing.
Additional Responsibilities:
Conducting procedures, reporting results, and highlighting abnormal findings.
Calibration and routine maintenance of all equipment, including sterilization when required.
Patient history-taking and interpretation of requisition forms.
Ensuring patient comfort, preparation, and reassurance.
Maintaining accurate patient records and database management.
Adhering to Health and Safety regulations and promoting safe working practices.
Contributing to the training and development of students and colleagues.
Responding effectively to medical emergencies, including Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.
Staying updated with current protocols and advancements in diagnostic cardiology.
Essential Qualifications:
BSc. (Hons) in Clinical Measurement Science / Clinical Physiology or equivalent.
Essential Experience:
Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar environment.
Essential Skills:
Strong supervisory, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Adaptability to the fast-paced changes within the healthcare environment.
