Job Description
Matchmedics is working with the largest and most diverse health services group in the cruise industry on the lookout for doctors to provide quality healthcare to their guests and crew while they sail the world, creating lasting memories.
Doctors primarily provide individualized outpatient, inpatient and ICU care for guests and crew. Doctors consult crew and guests, providing timely, safe and evidence-based assessments, formulating differential diagnoses and treatment plans, performing clinical interventions and procedures, and coordinating logistics of referrals and evacuations.
Technical skills are learned and practised on board, such as Xray acquisition and performing various laboratory tests and other procedures. Doctors work closely with shipboard nurses and paramedics and report to the ship's Senior Doctor. All medical staff provide a high level of customer service, maintaining a professional, dignified, friendly, assertive, and polite manner at all times towards guests and fellow crew members, and demonstrate performance consistent with theorganisation's Vision, Mission and Strategic Plan.
REQUIREMENTS:
Doctor applicants must hold a Medical Degree and current registration and licensing with an appropriate governmental or national regulatory body (Doctors from all over the world are welcome to apply!!). Applicants must have at least three years of postgraduate clinical experience in emergency medicine, acute care or ICU; the most recent work experience should be in a clinical setting.
Experience and certification in point-of-care ultrasound are preferred. Additional requirements include:
- A valid accredited ALS/ACLS certificate before joining a vessel (You can still apply if you don't have it yet)
- PALS and ATLS certifications may be required before completing the first year of employment
- A Valid passport
- Advanced in English
- Additional training in advanced airway management, ICU, Primary Emergency Care, Immediate Medical Care, ECG, Advanced Trauma Life Support and Advanced Paediatric Life Support is highly recommended, and experience working in private healthcare settings is preferred.
