Job Description

Role Title: Urgent Care Physician - Carrickmines / Swords

Would you like to work as part of a multidisciplinary team in a vibrant and team-focused environment? Over the coming months we are holding interviews with the view to placing successful candidates on our panel. We envisage full-time and part time, permanent and fixed term contract positions will arise over the coming months in both our Carrickmines and Swords clinics.

Role Purpose
  • Provide care to patients presenting with a range of urgent care presentations
  • Minor injuries; including: sprains, fractures and wounds
  • Facilitating referrals to specialists
  • Initial interpretation of x-rays and ECG's
  • Indicate any procedures done
  • Treat patients who attend the clinic for consultation
Education & Experience
  • Registered with the Irish Medical Council.
  • Minimum of 5 years post graduate experience in clinical practice, including significant experience in general practice and a minimum of 2 years recent urgent care/ emergency medicine experience.
  • Training in emergency medicine, general practice or other postgraduate qualification would be highly beneficial.
  • 6 months experience with paediatric patients is desirable.
  • Flexibility across a 7-day roster.
  • BLS

  • Patient/customer focused
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Good knowledge of risk management and clinical audit
  • Demonstrated alignment to the Vhi values
