Job Description

CPL Healthcare are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Social Care Worker to be part of the team in a family home setting in Drogheda on behalf of our client who delivers high-quality homecare services to individuals.

As part of your role, you will be responsible for providing high quality social care in line with the regulatory requirements and company’s policies and procedures as part of the team.

Some duties include:

  • Assisting with personal care, toileting, meal preparation, supervising medication, light housework /basic shopping needs.
  • Offering emotional and social support.
  • Monitoring and documenting client progress.
  • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary care team.
  • Creating a safe and nurturing care environment for clients.
  • Providing assistance, guidance, and community resource mobilisation to carers in order to aid and counsel them.
  • Reporting and recording any incidents.
  • Adhering to Health and Safety regulations.
  • Working around the 24 hour needs of the house. (ability to do days and nights if required)

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • Must have a degree level 7/8 qualification in Social Care/Social Studies or a related discipline.
  • Eligible for registration with CORU an advantage
  • Full clean driving licence essential.
  • Knowledge of New Directions Services and Supports for adults with disabilities would be advantageous.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • A fluent level of English both written and oral is essential.
  • Must be flexible – willing and able to adapt to changing circumstances, shift patterns and expectation.
  • Must be eligible to work in the Republic of Ireland.
