Job Description

Occupational Health Doctor

Role Overview:
We are seeking an Occupational Health Doctor to join a leading provider of occupational health services in Ireland. This role is ideal for a General Practitioner (GP) with specialised training or a strong interest in occupational health. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting employee health and well-being in the workplace.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert medical advice on workplace health, including fitness for work, absence management, and return-to-work assessments.
  • Conduct pre-employment medicals, health surveillance, and occupational health assessments.
  • Collaborate with employers and HR teams to address workplace health concerns and implement health promotion strategies.
  • Manage and report on workplace incidents, including occupational injuries and illnesses.
  • Offer guidance on compliance with health and safety legislation and standards.
  • Provide specialist advice on mental health, ergonomics, and work-life balance.
  • Stay updated on best practices and emerging trends in occupational health.

Candidate Profile:

  • Fully qualified Medical Practitioner registered with the Irish Medical Council.
  • Experienced GP, with a demonstrable interest or qualification in occupational health e.g., Diploma in Occupational Medicine.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with employees, employers, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • A solution-oriented approach with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of workplace health legislation and standards in Ireland is highly desirable.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and a proactive attitude toward learning and innovation in occupational health.
